The Shire of Dardanup is a proud RoadWise Council.
This recognition comes as part of the WALGA RoadWise initiative, which has successfully completed its inaugural year supporting best practice road safety across Local Governments.
In its first year, the RoadWise Council initiative saw participation from 66 Local Governments, each dedicated to advancing road safety practices tailored to their communities. The initiative was recently highlighted at the recent WALGA Local Government Awards 2024, where 66 councils, including Dardanup, were honoured for their proactive efforts in road safety improvement.
Throughout 2023-2024, the Shire of Dardanup has worked hard to implement key safety initiatives, and as a result, was awarded two Ribbons as part of the RoadWise program.
Some of our efforts include:
- Staff training in Road Safety Audits.
- Participation in the Road Safety Vanguards program.
- Developing a process to monitor and prioritise high-risk areas on our roads.
From mid-November to early January each year, the Shire promotes the Road Ribbon for Safety campaign, which includes free Road Ribbons from the Eaton and Dardanup office receptions.
