Recycling chemical containers
Have you heard of drumMUSTER?
The Shire of Dardanup supports drumMUSTER – a national program for the collection and recycling of eligible, pre-cleaned agricultural and veterinary chemical containers.
The Dardanup Waste Transfer Station is a designated drumMUSTER collection agency, one of almost 800 collection points across Australia.
Developed with the environment in mind, the drumMUSTER program collects and recycles eligible, pre-cleaned agricultural and veterinary chemical containers.
Once the containers have been collected, cleaned and inspected by trained personnel, they are recycled into re-usable products such as wheelie bins, road signs, fence posts and bollards.
The drumMUSTER service benefits both the user, the environment, industry and the wider community by providing a reliable, cost effective and sustainable option for the recycling of empty eligible agvet chemical containers.
Since program’s inception in May 1999, 25,259,618 agvet chemical containers have been collected across Australia.
This represents 30,349 tonnes of recyclable material.
