Animal Control Cages
The Shire has a limited number of animal control cages that are available for the Shire of Dardanup residents use. Payment of a refundable $150 bond is required before the animal control cage can be collected.
Only Shire Rangers are authorised to impound and remove cages.
Trapped animals are to be treated humanely at all times.
Impounded Cats
If the owner of an impounded cat is identified they will be notified and will have seven working days to claim their cat. The pet owner will need to pay a poundage fee and daily sustenance prior to the cat being released from the Animal Management Facility.
Unregistered cats must be microchipped, sterilised and registered before being released to their owner.
Once the fees have been paid, arrangements will be made by the Ranger to meet the cat owner at the Administration Centre, Eaton Office Monday to Friday.
If an owner is not identified, details of an impounded cat will be published on the Lost Animals webpage.
If not claimed within three working days unclaimed cats will be assessed by SAFE to see if they are suitable for rehoming.
