The Shire of Dardanup’s 2024-25 Summer Series wrapped up after three months of vibrant community events, attracting more than 2,000 attendees across over 20 free activities from December to February.
Now in its sixth year, the program continued to bring people together with a diverse range of entertainment, wellness sessions, and library workshops.
A standout success was the newly introduced ‘Christmas in the Park’ at Burekup Oval, which drew a record crowd of 400, featuring local choirs, a youth orchestra, and Santa’s arrival aboard a Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade truck.
Family-friendly initiatives like Library Storytime, the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, and Whitey’s Family Fishing Clinic saw record participation, highlighting the community’s growing demand for inclusive and engaging activities.
Our most successful event was the Summer Serenade on Valentine’s Day at Carramar Park in Dardanup, which featured musical talents from rising star Clay Mildwaters, South West Singer-Songwriter Tracey Barnett, and a special performance by Australian Idol finalist Phoebe Stewart and her band!
Sponsorship and community support played a key role in the program’s success, enabling high-quality experiences while strengthening local connections. Thanks to our sponsors: Umbrella Realty, Southern Ports, J&P Group and Doral.
