The Shire of Dardanup invites residents to come together to reflect, respect, and celebrate by participating in one of three local breakfast events on Australia Day, Sunday, 26 January 2025.

These events, supported by the Australian Government through a grant from the National Australia Day Council, are organised and run by dedicated volunteers.

Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner said Australia Day provides an opportunity for unity and celebration.

“This day allows us to reflect on our shared journey, respect the diverse stories that shape our nation, and celebrate our achievements, culture, and the people who make our communities strong," Cr Gardiner said.

“The Shire is proud to support local organisations and clubs that are hosting breakfast events in Dardanup, Burekup, and Eaton. I want to thank these groups for their hard work and passion in creating meaningful celebrations for our residents.

“For a gold coin donation, community members can enjoy a delicious breakfast and a range of activities to kick-start the day with family and friends.”

Cr Gardiner said the Eaton event will feature a special Citizenship Ceremony, where seven new residents will be officially welcomed to the Shire of Dardanup, marking the beginning of their journey as Australian citizens.

He said the event will also include the announcement of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards, honouring individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the Shire, showcasing the incredible spirit and dedication within our local community.
