The Shire of Dardanup President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner marked the first SEN Radio interview of 2025 today, covering a range of significant topics impacting the local community.
From tackling vandalism to unveiling exciting opportunities for residents, the discussion provided valuable insights into the Shire’s initiatives and future plans.
Burekup Cricket Oval vandalism
The President expressed deep concern over recent vandalism at the Burekup Cricket Oval, highlighting the damage to public facilities and its impact on the community. He emphasised the importance of community vigilance and working together to prevent such incidents, urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with investigations.
Eaton Recreation Centre renovations
Exciting progress is underway at the Eaton Recreation Centre, with renovations aimed at providing high-quality accessible facilities for residents and visitors. The works will refresh the main changerooms, toilets, and showers. The upgrades reflect the Shire’s commitment to enhancing recreational spaces to support a healthy, active lifestyle and should take about three months to complete.
Community and Event Grant applications open 13 January
Starting Monday, 13 January, local groups and organisations can apply for the Shire’s Community and Event Grants. These grants provide essential funding for initiatives that bring people together and enrich the community. The President encouraged eligible groups to seize this opportunity to turn their ideas into impactful projects. Community Scorecard survey coming in February
Looking ahead to February, the Shire will launch its biennial Community Scorecard survey, inviting residents to share their thoughts and experiences. The survey serves as a vital tool for shaping the Shire’s priorities and ensuring that services align with the needs and aspirations of the community. Keep an eye out for hard copies of the survey arriving in your mailbox in early February. The survey will also be available online for those who find it more convenient.
