Get ready for a night of magical fun as the Shire of Dardanup transforms Glen Huon Oval into an outdoor theatre under the stars for Movies by Moonlight, featuring a special screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone this Friday, 17 January, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner said all community members are welcome to attend the second main event in the 2024-2025 Summer Series for an evening of free entertainment.  

Cr Gardiner encouraged attendees to bring a picnic or enjoy dinner and snacks from the available food trucks, along with picnic blankets or low chairs for a comfortable evening.

“Parents can relax while children explore the Diagon Alley tent complete with free Harry Potter themed face painting and goodie bags equipped with their very own wand making kit,” Cr Gardiner said.

“Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite character from the Harry Potter wizarding world for their chance to win one of two $50 gift vouchers.”

Movies by Moonlight is just one of over 15 free events in the Shire’s annual Summer Series program.

Cr Gardiner thanked event sponsors for their support of this year’s highly anticipated series.

“Movies by Moonlight and the Summer Series not only provides an enjoyable experience for families and residents but also strengthens our local community and contributes to many positive social outcomes,” Cr Gardiner said.

“A big thank you to Umbrella Realty, Southern Ports, J&P Group and Doral for supporting this year’s program of events.

“We are thrilled to host another Movies by Moonlight and offer an experience that families and residents of all ages can enjoy.

“These types of events strengthen community bonds, create lasting memories, and provide an opportunity for residents to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.”
