Planning to add a pool? Here’s what you need to know

Published on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 at 12:46:31 PM

Thinking of taking the plunge and installing a swimming pool on your property? Remember, safety is the key and check in with the Shire of Dardanup on what you need to do first.

Under the Building Act 2011, all new pools and spas in the Shire require an inspection – and there's a one-off fee of $145.00 for all new pool permit applications, which took effect on 1 July 2024.

Our inspections ensure that your pool meets safety standards, helping to prevent tragic accidents, especially involving young children. Regular inspections are required every four years, with an annual inspection fee currently set at $36.00.

Already have a pool but no longer using it?

Let us know, and we'll update our records to ensure you're not charged for inspections you don’t need. Stay safe and enjoy your pool responsibly!
