What happened to Nina by Dervla McTiernan

The latest suspense novel from Perth based McTiernan.  I enjoyed her other novels, and this is no exception.  Loosely based on the real life disappearance of Gabby Petito, the novel isn’t so much a “who dunnit” but a “what happens next“.

Nina and her boyfriend Simon are seemingly the perfect couple.  One weekend they are climbing on Simo’s family’s property in Vermont but only Simon comes home.  Nina’s family are desperate for answers, Simon’s parents just want to protect him and the armchair investigators, conspiracy theorists and online trolls just want to use the tragedy to get attention.  How do you find out what happened to Nina when everyone involved is not playing by any rules?  How far do you go to protect the ones you love?

Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend

This is the first book in the children’s series The trials of Morrigan Crow by Australian author Jessica Townsend. Morrigan Crow was born on the unluckiest day of the year and is doomed to die at midnight on her 11th birthday.  She is whisked away to the magical land of Nevermoor to compete for a place at the Wundrous Society.  For fans of Harry Potter and other children’s fantasy novels, full of magic, adventure, danger, friendship and dragons.
