Dardanup office temporary closure: CEO update

Published on Wednesday, 27 November 2024 at 2:05:52 PM

The Shire of Dardanup would like to address recent community concerns regarding the temporary closure of the Dardanup Office yesterday.

CEO André Schönfeldt said that the closure is due to the recent accidental impact of a vehicle into the building, which caused structural concerns.

Mr Schönfeldt said the building has been deemed unsafe for use, and the Shire is actively investigating the extent of the damage to determine the quickest way to make the building safe and accessible again.

"Our priority is to ensure the building is safe and fully functional so we can reopen this important service for the community as soon as possible,” Mr Schönfeldt said.

“Despite some community perceptions, the Shire has no intention to withdraw this service from the Dardanup community. However, we will not reopen until the building is deemed safe.

“We understand the importance of this office to the community and are committed to keeping you informed as more details become available.

“Thank you for your understanding as we work to resolve this matter.”
