The Eaton Country Women’s Association (CWA) celebrated 100 years of being established in Western Australia, with over 100 members and supporters at a morning tea on Monday.

Shire of Dardanup President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner turned out to celebrate the exciting milestone alongside Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino MP and Perth CWA representative Megan Depiazzi.

Cr Gardiner congratulated the Eaton CWA members on a fantastic morning tea and recognised their long-term commitment to supporting the community.

He said a special edition book called A Centenary of CWA Stories - Women of Spirit, was donated by Eaton CWA President Dot Jarvis and accepted by Shire of Dardanup Library Coordinator, Andrea Strapp. The book will be added to the Eaton Community Library’s collection and is available for the community to loan.

“I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the Country Women’s Association on reaching this remarkable milestone of 100 years of service and advocacy,” Cr Gardiner said.

“As we celebrate this historic anniversary, we reflect on the countless contributions of the CWA members – past and present – who have selflessly devoted their time and energy to making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

Established in 1924, the CWA has been carrying out its mission to unite women and strengthen communities through friendship, education, service and advocacy for 100 years.

The Eaton CWA branch currently has 13 members and celebrated its 60-year anniversary last year in October.

The CWA is well known for its extensive and dedicated support of communities and popular CWA cookbooks.
