Changes to disposal of Household Hazardous Waste

Guidelines for the disposal in our region of Household Hazardous Waste – which includes items like paint, pool chemicals and pesticides – are being tightened by regulators to ensure improved environmental outcomes.

As a result of these changes, our Banksia Road Transfer Station is no longer able to accept items categorised as Household Hazardous Waste. Other disposal options include the Bunbury Harvey Regional Council’s Stanley Road Waste Management Facility and for some items, our monthly e-waste collection service in Eaton and Dardanup and Community Recycling Stations.

Please find below a list of items considered to be Household Hazardous Waste and the options available for their disposal.

E-waste collections occur at the following locations:

  • Eaton – Eaton Community College carpark off Recreation Drive, 9.00am to 11.00am, last Saturday of every month;
  • Dardanup – Carramar carpark, off Little Street, 9.00am to 11.00am, first Saturday of every month.

Our Community Recycling Stations (for recycling of bulbs, bottletops and batteries) are located at:

  • Administration Centre, Eaton
  • Dardanup Office
  • Eaton Recreation Centre
  • Eaton Library
  • Shire of Dardanup Depot
