The Shire of Dardanup Rangers team will start annual firebreak inspections next week, ensuring properties comply with the 2024-2025 Fire Prevention Order, which was sent to residents as a reminder in mid-October.
Shire CEO André Schönfeldt emphasised the importance of these measures, which helps keep the Shire and its residents safe during bush fire season.
"Firebreaks and hazard reductions are a critical responsibility we all share to protect our community,” Mr Schönfeldt said.
“Last year was an exceptionally busy fire season, and by working together to ensure compliance, we can help keep our Shire safe.
If you are unsure of your requirements for firebreaks and hazard reduction, or require an extension to complete your firebreak requirements, please notify the Shire by this Friday, 29 November.
“Maintaining compliant firebreaks not only helps safeguard your property but also assists our dedicated fire services in responding to emergencies more effectively,” Schönfeldt said.
“Let’s work together to reduce the risks this fire season. Thank you for playing your part in keeping our Shire safe.”
