The Shire of Dardanup is seeking experienced and passionate planning professionals to join our dynamic team to support sustainable development and growth within our local government area. What you'll be doing
- Provide expert planning advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Assess and determine development applications, subdivisions and other planning proposals
- Prepare and review planning schemes, policies, strategies and other planning documents
- Conduct site inspections and represent the Shire at meetings, hearings and tribunals
- Support the implementation of the Shire's strategic planning objectives
- Collaborate with various teams and external agencies to achieve planning outcomes
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in urban planning, town planning or a related field
- Experience in a similar planning role, ideally within local government
- Excellent knowledge of planning legislation, policies and processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement
- Proven track record in delivering planning outcomes and managing competing priorities
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
