The Opportunity:

• Full Time Permanent FTE
• Level 8/9 - Salary Range $97,228 - $109,819 per annum depending upon qualifications & experience
• Located at our Eaton Administration Centre

We are seeking a Registered Level 1 or 2 Building Surveyor with demonstrated experience to lead our Building Services team.  The successful candidate will require a strong background in building regulations and sound technical knowledge, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a small team.

The Role:

• Promoting effective liaison between builders and ratepayers on Council’s requirements
• Ensuring building applications for permits and certificates comply with relevant Acts and Codes, including issuing compliance certificates
• Assisting ratepayers of the municipality in all matters pertaining to building whereby proper siting amenity and construction of buildings is paramount.
• Ensuring the processing of building permit and compliance certificate applications within the specified statutory time limits.
• Managing the proper functioning of the Building Permit Authority.
• Ensuring construction of buildings within the municipal district is in accordance with sound building practice.
