Project Update: Dardanup Civic Precinct

Published on Wednesday, 7 September 2022 at 10:54:59 AM

Work is about to start on a transformation in the centre of Dardanup to create a Civic Precinct following Council’s decision at its August meeting to award the tender for construction to LD Total.

The site will first be temporarily fenced off from 19 September as indicated by the blue line in below map before earthworks begin.

During this time, access to the public toilets will be via the south-western side (or Shire Office side).

We understand the fencing may limit pathway access to Charlotte Street for some pedestrians and mobility vehicles and we will be working with our contractor to establish an alternate route.

We appreciate your patience during this time and ask the community to assist us by not moving the temporary fencing. Works will be paused for the Dardanup Bull & Barrel Festival.

The new Civic Precinct will connect the main street, town and hall to Carramar Park by creating a new link through the former volunteer fire brigade and depot site.

Works will include landscaping, pathways, an art installation, seating and nature play trail.

This Dardanup Depot Revitalisation project is being delivered in partnership with RAC, through its Reconnect WA initiative, which aims to create vibrant streets and public spaces for Western Australians to interact and connect with each other.

The project is scheduled for completion by the end of December, 2022.
