As the weather heats up in the Shire of Dardanup, it's the perfect time to jump into the pool – but remember, safety comes first!

Here’s how to keep your pool a safe haven for everyone:

💧 Pool safety tips:

  • Always supervise: Accidents can happen in seconds. When young children are around the pool, stay within arm’s reach.
  • Check your barriers: Compliant pool safety barriers are not just a rule – they’re essential. Ensure your barriers are in top shape to protect little ones.
  • Regular inspections: Did you know? All pools and spas in the Shire require inspections every 4 years under the Building Act 2011. This keeps barriers safe and compliant, giving you peace of mind.

💰 Important fees to remember:

  • One-time inspection fee: A $145.00 inspection fee applies for new pool building permits (effective July 1, 2024).
  • Annual safety fee: The annual fee of $36.00 supports ongoing inspections to help keep all pools in our community safe.

🚨 Already have a pool? Here’s what to know:

  • 1000 pools and counting: The Shire of Dardanup has approximately 1000 registered pools, all regularly inspected to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Moving or removing your pool? Let us know if your pool is no longer in use! We’ll update our records, so you don’t pay unnecessary fees.
