Despite the drizzle, the Tronox Spring Out Festival drew a record crowd of about 6,500 people yesterday, making this year’s event the Shire of Dardanup’s biggest and most successful yet.
Shire of Dardanup President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner praised the community's enthusiasm and support of the annual festival held along the Eaton Foreshore, and the team behind the event.
“Once again the Tronox Spring Out Festival delivered a day of fun, food, and family entertainment for all ages,” Cr Gardiner said.
"It really was all hands on deck, and I’m incredibly proud of the Shire of Dardanup staff for their hard work. Organising an event like this takes a lot of preparation — and while we always hope for good weather, they did a marvellous job.
“The turnout and community support show how much people love this festival.”
Cr Gardiner said the introduction of the artisanal market stalls was a standout, attracting plenty of interest from attendees.
He said food vans were in such high demand that many sold out, underscoring the event’s growing popularity.
"We’ll be looking at more parking and additional food vendors next year to keep up with demand, and we can’t wait to deliver another fantastic, free family fun day," Cr Gardiner added.
“This really is about providing an event for our community. We had some terrific feedback from service providers and organisations like the Carey Park and Leschenault Scouts clubs who also had a successful day, signing up new members.
“While the Shire's Youth Advisory Group took on MC duties and impressed with their professionalism and entertainment.
“A big congratulations to all the dancers from the Connie Vidos School of Dance, and all the other artists that performed on the Community Stage.”
Cr Gardiner said the Highland Cows were a popular addition to this year’s line up as well as all the kids’ activities and attractions.
“With overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, the Tronox Spring Out Festival has once again cemented its place as one of the region’s most beloved community events,” Cr Gardiner said.
“We are extremely grateful for the support of our major sponsor Tronox, who without, we would not be able to provide such a wonderful event.
“The Shire is already looking forward to making next year’s festival even bigger and better.”
