The opportunity:
- Full-time – 5 Year Performance Based Contract.
- Level 10 – Salary package valued at up to $160,000, including cash component, superannuation and full private use of a Council vehicle.
- Located at our Eaton Administration Centre.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven HR professional to join our team as Manager Human Resources. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for leading the Human Resources (HR) and Work Health and Safety (WHS) functions of the Shire, ensuring that our workforce is supported, engaged and working in a safe environment. You will play a crucial role in cultivating a thriving workplace culture by devising and executing forward-thinking strategies to enhance employee engagement and foster a positive and innovative working environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing strategic HR leadership and direction to support the Shire's objectives.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and programs.
- Leading and managing the HR, WHS and DAMA teams, including recruitment, training, performance management and employee relations.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant employment and workplace health and safety legislation.
- Promoting a positive, safe and inclusive work culture.
- Advising and supporting managers on HR and WHS matters.
- Fostering continuous improvement and driving innovation in HR and WHS practices.
What we're looking for:
- Extensive experience in a senior HR management role, ideally within the local government sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of HR, including talent management, employee relations and organisational development.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and the ability to implement effective WHS programs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Experience in leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources.
