About Eaton Recreation Centre
At Eaton Recreation Centre we are developing a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence. Our focus is to enrich community health, fitness and well-being through inclusive recreational activities, that foster social connections. The Shire of Dardanup facility offers a 24-7 gym, group fitness studio and virtual cycle studio, children’s programs (including Creche and Vacation Care Holiday program), Cafe, plus a Stadium featuring 3 multi-purpose courts used for sports hire, competitions, clubs, associations, and elite level competition (Southwest Slammers and Southwest Jets).
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervising the gym floor, providing advice, encouragement and support to members on their fitness journey
- Completing fitness appraisals, body scans and tailored programs for members as well as program reviews
- Ensuring venue presentation is of the highest standard, actioning cleaning responsibilities as required - all equipment and work areas are clean, hygienic and safe to use
- Providing a positive experience by engaging users, building and maintaining rapport, encouraging participation and membership retention.
- Ensuring area entry conditions and etiquette are followed and safety is always maintained.
- Conducting small group training and circuit training classes on the gym floor.
To become our next Fitness Coach, you will have:
- Experience creating tailored programs for members.
- Experience supervising the gym floor, providing advice, encouragement and support to members.
- A passion for improving community members health and wellbeing.
- A motivated, friendly and engaging nature.
- Proactive member engagement skills, being constantly active on shift
- A willingness to deliver small group training on the gym floor
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to learn technology and processes quickly
- Drive to deliver our service vision “exceptional service, every customer, every interaction”.
- Have a passion for personal and professional development of self
- Possess developed interpersonal and communication skills, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
The minimum qualifications you will need:
- Certificate III in Fitness
- Current Working with Children
- Current First aid and CPR
Desired qualifications:
- Certificate 4 in Fitness
- Courses in Special Populations – Adolescents/Older Adults.
- Recognised training in HIIT, Boxing, Kettlebells, Suspension.
- Pilates, Yoga or other Wellness programs.
- Life, Wellness and Behavioural Change coaching.
- Les Mills / freestyle programming.
- Current fitness registration or willingness to attain.
