Summer in Your Park is back with 23 free, fun events

The Shire of Dardanup is thrilled to announce the return of the Fuel to Go & Play Summer in Your Park Series, bringing parks to life with free family-friendly events throughout December, January, and February.

Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner said the Shire is proud to partner with the State Government’s Healthway to offer 23 free events that foster community involvement and encourage healthy eating, drinking, and activities.

“Our parks will be buzzing with energy and excitement as we kick off another summer of community events for everyone,” Cr Gardiner said.

“The Fuel to Go & Play Summer in Your Park Series is about connecting people, promoting healthy lifestyles, and creating memorable experiences."

Cr Gardiner said favourite events making a return include "Movies by Moonlight" and "Summer Sounds", while new additions feature X5 Parkour Workshops, wellness activities for seniors, Kids Crafts with Kate, and the Whiteys Family Learn to Fish Clinic.

He said also returning to the program is Yoga with Gyani, Scouts Family Fun Day, Teddy Bear’s Picnic and Story time in the Park.

“Council funding, coupled with a $10,000 Fuel to Go & Play grant from Healthway, ensures a vibrant series that promotes healthy food and drink options,” Cr Gardiner said.

“The 2023-2024 series will emphasise community education on the benefits of healthy living.

"Fuel to Go & Play Summer in Your Park is more than just events, it's a platform to showcase our community's diversity, foster positive connections, and bring people together in the fantastic recreational spaces we have in the Shire of Dardanup."

Cr Gardiner said last year's series drew thousands of attendees from across the Shire and surrounding areas, proving the success of this initiative in promoting social connection and engagement.
